We work on the web, especially with projects for publishing and using structured data (open or closed) and crowd sourcing data sets.
We can help you with scoping and designing projects, developing software and hosting it. We can start projects from scratch, but also specialise in coming into existing projects and working to understand them, host them and put them on a good footing before developing new features.
We offer advice, support and training to make sure people and teams can get the best out of their tools. We run, host and present at tech events and can help with knowledge sharing in teams.
We run a virtual tech event for people who can't attend in-person tech events for whatever reason. Our sessions encourage discussion among the participants.
Our next event is:
James Baster discusses relaunching Open Tech Calendar to list virtual tech events, with a discussion about events online.
Open Tech Calendar lists virtual tech events that include community participation. We provide Open Data for people to reuse and ask people to contribute any events they know about.
Second Guessing is a completely free web game that challenges people to count seconds.
DataTig helps when a community of people want to crowd-source a data set and they use a git repository to store the data.
StaticPipes is our own Open Source Static Site Builder, used in many of our projects.
Virtually Attend lists details of FOSDEM sessions in any time zone.
James Baster specialises in the web, back-end and DevOps and has worked in a wide range of areas over a varied career. He appreciates the human aspect of computing, and makes sure tech works for those using it and affected by it. He has worked in many different sectors for many different clients.
